Get Chesed Senior Visits Program
A partnership between Colel Chabad’s Get Chesed program, WeMe, and Lev Echad gives isolated seniors the gift of companionship. This Chanukah, 3,000 volunteers will visit homes to deliver gifts and share warm, personal moments.
The seniors receive what is often their only interaction of the holiday, while the students form deep, lasting bonds with their new “grandparents.”

What began as a simple effort to ease loneliness among Israel’s seniors has grown into something deeply personal.
Through heartfelt home visits, thousands of college students have formed enduring bonds with elderly participants that often continue long after graduation. Many of these seniors have become part of the students’ lives, like cherished grandparents watching the next generation grow.
This Chanukah will see 3,000 seniors and college volunteers matched, through a partnership between Colel Chabad’s Get Chesed program, WeMe, and Lev Echad.
Volunteers will distribute meaningful Chanukah gifts, creating a warm, personal visit, often the only personal interaction the senior will receive during the holiday.
